AFC’s Environmental Commitment: Reducing Wastewater in Textiles
Continuous droughts worldwide have triggered an economic crisis for many manufacturing sectors, threatening lives in all conditions. Blue water isn’t just crucial for production—it also demands costly post-production waste management to purify wastewater before disposal. At AFC, we believe industrial water waste is just as critical an issue as textile waste.
So, what are we doing about it?
Five years ago, we revolutionized our dyeing process with Dope Dye technology. This approach allows our production lines to dye yarns with almost zero water consumption, reducing blue water usage by 97.7% and slashing carbon emissions by up to 78% compared to traditional dyeing methods. For every kilogram of fabrics dyed, we save 62 kilograms of water, equivalent to the monthly drinking water needed by one person. We did not stop here.
